Who runs Aqua Planet
Hi, I’m Anum Saeed. I’ve been keeping freshwater aquariums for 10 years, from community tanks and planted setups to shrimp and snail tanks. Like most fishkeepers, I learned a lot the hard way: melting plants, cloudy water, algae outbreaks and fish that didn’t get along. Aqua Planet is where I share what works, so you can skip some of those mistakes.
I also run the AQUA PLANET 128 YouTube channel, where I film my own tanks, fish, shrimp and snails. Many of our articles include those videos, so you can see things in a real tank, not just read about them.

How we write our guides
- Answer first. Every guide starts with a short, direct answer, then explains the details.
- Checked facts. Sizes, temperatures, tank sizes and water parameters are checked against trusted fishkeeping and scientific sources, and we give ranges when sources disagree.
- Honest advice. If a popular tip is wrong, or a “beginner fish” really isn’t, we say so.
- Consistent numbers. Our guides and calculators use the same data, so the advice matches across the site.
- Kept up to date. We review and update articles when we learn something new or a reader spots a problem.
